Harriet studied Podiatry at Cardiff Met and qualified in 2017. The degree training included a thousand hours assessing and treating patients in a variety of clinic settings and was her favourite part of the course. She has long had an interest in how the human body works, and qualified in Massage Therapy in 2008.
During her Podiatry degree, she completed a Research Project in Biomechanics (how humans move and walk). She was awarded the Huntleigh Prize for academic excellence within the department at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Prior to training in Podiatry, she studied English Literature, French and German. She taught English in Germany for several years and continues to visit there regularly to see friends. She enjoys every opportunity to speak French and German. She subsequently organised exchange programmes between the schools here and in France, Quebec and Germany.
Outside work, she enjoys country walks, swimming and singing. She is training in a form of coaching called Focusing. On fine days she’ll be gardening or volunteering at a local community orchard.
