Over the Christmas break, many people would have engaged in long family walks. Sometimes this extra activity can lead to foot problem such as pain, blisters or ingrowing toenails. There are a few things you can do to ensure your feet won’t suffer!
Trim your toenails regularly; always cut straight across, never go too low down and never cut down the sides.
Always wear the correct footwear; make sure your shoes and boots fit well, have good soles and breathable if walking in wet conditions.
If shoes or boots become wet, always dry them thoroughly. This reduces the possibility of bacteria growing.
Moisturising your feet helps to keep your skin supple but avoid applying cream between the toes as this can lead to Athletes foot.
If you notice athlete’s foot beginning; treat as soon as possible.
